Spring Heron
We painted a blue heron in the watercolor class at #degallery last Wednesday. Here is my interpretation. Students worked on watercolor paper and I painted it on rice paper using batik technique.
I am happy to see the photo of the buyer from Tarpon Springs, FL. 44"X60" Acrylic print of "Turtle Reflections" has been delivered to the buyer's home. She said "Pretty excited to get it hung up!!! It is HUGE!!! And it’s BEAUTIFUL! Perfect for the spot.” Now It's hung in it’s special spot along side her tree #1. She is the owner of www.DeniseLewis.com who teaches how to use essential oils. https://fineartamerica.com/featured/turtle-reflections-hailey-e-herrera.html
Downtown Bryan Association celebrates First Friday’s 15th anniversary with new art project
To celebrate the 15th anniversary of First Friday in Downtown Bryan, Downtown Bryan Association has asked several artists to do an art project, HeARTbeat: paint 4'X4' (48"X48") wood hearts. These hearts will be displayed around Downtown on the next First Friday, Oct. 2.
Here is my design called "Starry Night over the Palace Theater". Since I am a watercolor artist, I decided to paint the design on the paper, and then mount it on the wood heart. I kept the image so I can use it for print products.

I was passing through the Houston neighborhood and found a magnolia tree. I got out of the car to take a picture and made this painting "After a Fresh Rain".
Elegance in Red
The painting "Elegance in Red" and its reference photo. There was a little patch of wooded area in the neighborhood of my old house. I used to walk around in that area in the morning to find birds. I can easily spot some birds and cardinals are my favorite. It was hard to get a good photo with my cell phone but was good enough for painting.
American buffalo Series
"American buffalo", which was the first in a series of buffalo paintings. I made 5 more after that and they all have been sold. I wish I kept them all. "American Buffalo 4" was the last one sold. I was thinking of picking it up from the gallery but I was too late. Since then, I created "Herrera Collection", collection of my paintings I don't want to sell. So far, I have 34 paintings in Herrera Collection. https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/hailey-e-herrera?tab=artworkgalleries&artworkgalleryid=743635?affiliateId=A99243
