Rusty Windmill

New Artwork: A rusty windmill stood against a serene blue sky, its weathered blades motionless. Up close, the faded colors and chipped paint created a rustic texture, telling stories of time gone by. The windmill's presence captured the enduring beauty found in the delicate interplay of decay and nostalgia, a reminder of the passage of time.

I am happy to be the first artist of a new initiative for the Downtown Bryan Street and Art Fair this year, creating a collectible sticker for Art Fair. Here is my design.

Bleeding Hearts 2

The bleeding hearts flowers, distinguished by their distinctive pink heart-shaped petals, emerge as focal points set against the textured blue and green background. This background not only serves as an intriguing backdrop but also amplifies the visual charm of the gentle pink petals. As they cast delicate shadows on the gracefully arched branch and hanging flowers, they introduce a sense of depth and contribute to an enchanting interplay of light and shadow within the scene.

This painting was created on Arches paper using artist quality watercolor paints. It is presented with a white mat.

"Fall Maple Leaves (after Georgia O'Keeffe)", tonight's watercolor class at #degallery. The right one is Georgia O'Keeffe's Fall Maple Leaves. I was able to copy her painting with watercolor and learned a lot by doing it. Happy Fall!

Rose Garden

The painting "Rose Garden". The Barbara Bush Rose garden and Gazebo located behind the George H. Bush Presidential Library in College Station, Texas, one of the tourist attractions in Texas. The painting was created in a unique style and colors to highlight the charm of the garden.

Painted Hills

For the painting "Painted Hills", I used my student, Deby Simpson's photo. Our class subject was painting a wildflower filed and she was painting her daughter on the bluebonnet field. Wildflowers in the picture caught my eye so I asked her permission to use them. Thanks Deby!

Twisted Oak

I don't need to have a nice reference image to create a painting. Sometimes, I prefer to have a blurry, ugly, or simple black and white image. The photo I took from moving car was used for the painting "Twisted oak".
