The first weekend in March is Texas Independence Weekend! And we at The Gallery Downtown celebrate it BIG! Coordinating our show with the City of Navasota's Annual Texas Birthday Bash, we invite you to come and enjoy Texas as it should be celebrated. This is our first annual Lone Star Show, a 3-day show dedicated to celebrating Texas! We have asked artists across the Brazos Valley to participate in showcasing their interpretation of the GREAT STATE OF TEXAS! This is your chance to take a piece of Texas Home!
Join us for the Opening Reception for Retrospective, an exhibit that celebrates the gallery’s last five years in Downtown Bryan. The exhibit will show works from 7 incredible artists, all who have shown at the gallery before. The artists range from local favorites such as David Sites, Hailey Herrera, and Scott McDermott to artists spread around the country like Dawn Winter and Mirka Hokkanen, to international artists, Inari Krohn and Marie-Renée Hoeks.
Art abounds at Festival Hill. Join us during the weekend of Friday-Saturday, October 27-28, 2017 for the exhibition, Visions and Voices of Festival Hill. Over 30 well-known writers, poets and visual artists from the Round Top and Central Texas area will display their works on the campus of Round Top Festival Institute.
The opening performance and exhibit will be held in the "Old Yellow School House," the service building east of the concert hall, on Friday, October 27 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm (doors open at 6:00 pm). Artists will talk about their works and read their poems and stories. The exhibition is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
A mixture or blend formed by fusing two or more things. Enter the hearts and minds of the artists who, while creating are stimulated by the words or strains of music. The rhythms, the strokes, the colors flow as the artist disappears into the music. From traditional works to non-objective paintings, you are invited to immerse yourself in each piece. May the artists' creative pieces fuse with your hearts and minds.
