A Behind scene of the Art of Texas State Parks at the Bullock Museum

I can't wait to see the exhibition, the Art of Texas State Parks at the Bullock Museum. In honor of the Centennial Celebration of Texas State Park, The Bullock Museum will host a traveling art exhibit from January 7 to April 30. The exhibit will travel to the Houston Museum of Natural Science in late May. It will then travel to several museums in 2024. This is one of behind scenes that the museum team is installing my painting "View Beyond Dogwood, Mission Tejas State Park".

Dessert in the Garden

The commissioned piece, “Dessert in the Garden” has been delivered to New York, NY. The couple wanted to remember their first anniversary celebration. They asked me to create an artwork based on desserts from their anniversary celebration but create the painting to be true to my style and desserts to be in a garden setting. I am happy to be able to create this piece that will be treasured for years to come.

Is a good idea for an artist to sell reproductions ?

Selling reproductions, such as prints, of an artist's original work can be a good idea for several reasons:

  1. Increased revenue: Selling reproductions can increase an artist's revenue by providing a way to sell multiple copies of a single piece of artwork.

  2. Greater audience reach: By selling reproductions, an artist's work can reach a wider audience, as prints are generally less expensive than original artworks.

  3. Promotion of original artworks: Selling reproductions can also be a way to promote an artist's original artworks and increase demand for them.

  4. Cost-effective: Selling reproductions is cost-effective for the artist, as the artist can make multiple copies of the artwork without having to create each one from scratch.

  5. Increased Visibility: Selling reproductions can also increase an artist's visibility and allow them to reach new audiences, potentially leading to more sales and commissions.

However, it's important to note that selling reproductions of your artworks doesn't replace the value of original artworks and it's also important for the artist to consider the medium and quality of the reproductions and the pricing strategy. Additionally, it's important for the artist to make sure that the reproductions are clearly labeled as such, and not marketed or sold as original artworks.

In summary, selling reproductions can be a good way for artists to increase their revenue, reach a wider audience and promote their original artworks, but it's important to consider the medium, quality, pricing and labeling of the reproductions.
