View Beyond Dogwood, Mission Tejas State Park
View Beyond Dogwood, Mission Tejas State Park
A Spanish mission building at Mission Tejas State Park, TX stands on a carpet of needles, cones, and leaves. Incredibly tall pineywoods create large pockets of shade during a sunny spring. The dogwood trees are a symbol of spring, whose fragrant flowers bloom around Easter. White dogwood blossoms cover the top of the painting leading the viewer to the mission building as if they are looking through dogwood flowers. Along with the cross on top of the roof, flowers shaped like a cross remind us of the legend of the dogwood.
